茨城県にある大利根カントリークラブで開催されている、国内女子メジャー第3戦「日本女子オープンゴルフ選手権競技」の3日目。単独首位でスタートした宮里美香が前半で2つスコアを伸ばし、トータル11アンダーで首位をキープしている。
宮里藍は前半3バーディ・1ボギーとスコアを2つ伸ばしトータル4アンダー2位タイに浮上。上原彩子と並んでいる。トータル4アンダー4位タイには有村智恵ら4選手、横峯さくらはトータルイーブンパー11位タイ、上田桃子はトータル6オーバー26位タイに後退した。

国内男子ツアー「フジサンケイクラシック」の初日は、降雨によるコースコンディションの不良により6時30分に中止が決定した。

開催コースの富士桜カントリー倶楽部には昨夜から130ミリを超える雨が降り続き、関係者が5時15分にコースをチェックした時点でバンカーに水が溜まり、フェアウェイ、ティグラウンドのいたるところに水が浮いている状況。台風12号が本州に接近していることで天候の回復が見込めないため、競技開催は不可能と判断して6時30分に中止が決定。クラブハウスでアナウンスを聞いた選手達は次々とコースを後にした。
今後のスケジュールについて競技ディレクターの中島氏は「72ホールをやるという可能性は残しつつ、あらゆる可能性を検討しているところです。しかし、日照時間などを考えると現実的には72ホールはきわめて厳しい」とコメント。1ラウンド減らした54ホール、台風の影響によっては競技成立ギリギリの36ホール短縮競技となることも示唆した。
昨年大会2位の薗田峻輔もコース入りしたものの、中止のアナウンスを聞き早々に引きあげ。「残念ですけどしょうがない。明日以降も雨があると思う。距離が長いですし、雨で飛距離も落ちるので、その辺を上手くごまかしながらやっていきたいですね」と明日以降を見据えていた。

接近する台風12号の影響で雨が降り続き、早々に初日の中止が決定した国内男子ツアー「フジサンケイクラシック」。コースに姿を見せた選手もアナウンスを聞くと次々と引き揚げていった。しかし、一部の選手はコースの練習場が使えると聞くと、時折猛烈な雨が降る中調整。藤田寛之、片山晋呉らが練習場で球を打ち続けた。

藤田は普段から練習を共にする河瀬賢史に熱血指導を行いながら、自らもショットの調整。「腰のキレ、振りぬきの悪さを気にしてやっていた」長時間に渡り練習を続け、終わった後には、今週から投入するニューパターを手にパッティンググリーンでボールを転がし続けた。
この日の中止に加え今後も悪天候が予想されている今大会。短縮競技となる可能性もあるだけに1つのミスが大きく響いてくることとなる。さらに、雨で飛距離が落ちるため、飛ばし屋ではない藤田らには苦しい戦いが待っている。「あまりミスできない。雨の中だとガマンも必要になる。ガマンして上位にしがみついて最終日を迎えたいですね」と消耗戦を覚悟で本戦へ意気込みを新たにした。

国内男子ツアー「フジサンケイクラシック」の初日は、台風12号の影響で降り続いた雨のためコースコンディションが悪化し中止が決定した。第1ラウンドは改めて2日(金)に行われる。

この日8時35分スタートだった石川遼は朝はコース入りせず、16時過ぎに練習のためコース入り。時折降る猛烈な雨のため、芝の練習場は水びたしで使用できず、人工マットの上からボールを打ち込んだ。
明日のスタート時間はこの日と変わらず7時20分予定。石川は8時35分に片山晋呉らと共にスタートする。

山梨県にある富士桜カントリー倶楽部にて開催中の国内男子ツアー「フジサンケイクラシック」。初日は台風12号の影響で降り続いた雨のためコースコンディションが悪化し中止に。この日は何度かの中断を挟みながら、競技が行われている。
3連覇を狙う石川遼はINコースからスタート。序盤の11番でティショットのミスからボギーを先行させてしまうが、14番でバーディを奪取しスコアを戻す。迎えた前半最終18番、セカンドショットがバンカーにつかまり、うまくリカバリーするもパーパットが決まらずボギーとしてしまう。石川は1バーディ、2ボギーの1オーバーで後半のプレーに入っている。
石川はハーフ終了時点で10位タイ。12ホールを消化し1アンダーとしているベ・サンムン（韓国）ら2選手が現時点で首位に立っている。

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee said Wednesday it was mistake to compare Tiger Woods' rules violation to his own episode of cheating on a fourth-grade math test and that he would stop writing for the website where his column appeared.
''I said Tiger Woods was cavalier about the rules. I should have stopped right there,'' Chamblee said Wednesday night in his first appearance on Golf Channel since his column was posted to golf.com nearly two weeks ago.
''In comparing those incidents to my cheating episode in the fourth grade, I went too far,'' he said. ''Cheating involves intent. Now, I know what my intent was on that fourth-grade math test. But there's no way that I could know with 100 percent certainty what Tiger's intent was in any of those situations. That was my mistake.''
His comments came two days after Woods and his agent, Mark Steinberg at Excel Sports, put pressure on Golf Channel to do something.
''All I am going to say is that I know I am going forward,'' Woods said Monday before an exhibition in China. ''But then, I don't know what the Golf Channel is going to do or not. ... So the ball really is in the court of the Golf Channel and what they are prepared to do.''
Steinberg previously told ESPN.com that he was considering legal action.
Chamblee last week apologized to Woods last week on Twitter for ''this incited discourse,'' though he didn't back away from his criticism, and he didn't apologize outright to Woods during his brief segment on Golf Channel.
Steinberg did not immediately respond to an email on Chamblee's comments Wednesday night.
In his column, Chamblee wrote of being caught cheating in the fourth grade, and how the teacher had crossed a line through his ''100'' and given him an ''F.'' He then wrote, ''I remember when we only talked about Tiger's golf. I missed those days. He won five times and contended in majors and won the Vardon Trophy and ... how shall we say this ... was a little cavalier with the rules.'' He then gave Woods a ''100'' with a line through it, followed by the ''F.''
He said an editor at golf.com asked him to rewrite the ending.
''I wish I would have listened to him,'' Chamblee said Wednesday.
Chamblee, a former PGA Tour player, was a contributor to SI Golf Plus whose columns appeared on golf.com. He said he would no longer write for the publication.
''Tiger and his camp, they're upset at Golf Channel. They specifically called Golf Channel out,'' Chamblee said. ''And to me, they're barking up the wrong tree. This column appeared on golf.com. Nobody here at Golf Channel knew anything about it. ... But all of this has made me realize that there is a conflict and confusion when you work for one company and write for another company.''
He said he would no longer write for any of the Golf magazine properties next year, only for websites affiliated with NBC and Golf Channel.
''That way, if Tiger and his camp have an issue with something I write, they will at least be yelling at the right people,'' he said.
Chamblee said it was a 45-minute drive to take his son to school that made him realize he went over the top. He said his son told that if he had been more diplomatic in his observations, that people would be talking more about the issue than his opinion.
''It wasn't until after he said that that I offered my apology on Twitter,'' Chamblee said. ''Maybe I should have let my son read this column before I hit send on the email.''

Los Angeles (AFP) - Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee, under fire for a Golf.com column accusing Tiger Woods of bending the rules, said in a televised interview he "went too far".
In a column written for the Golf.com website, Chamblee pointed to several rules gaffes involving Woods this season, and compared them to his own cheating on a fourth-grade math test.
In an interview on Golf Channel's "Golf Central" program on Wednesday -- his first televised comments on the matter -- Chamblee said it was wrong to insinuate Woods cheated.
"Cheating involves intent," Chamblee said. "There's no way that I could know with 100 percent certainty what Tiger's intent was in any of those situations. That was my mistake."
In the article, Chamblee gave Woods an 'F' grade for his 2013 campaign. While Woods won five times in 2013, Chamblee said he was "a little cavalier with the rules".
Woods was hit with a number of penalties this year, most notably at the US Masters, when he flirted with disqualification over an improper drop.
He was penalized for an improper drop at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and incurred a two-shot penalty for moving his ball at the BMW Championship.
Woods's manager Mark Steinberg had raised the prospect of court action soon after the article appeared.
Chamblee did nothing to soothe the situation when he took to Twitter to apologize -- but then said he stood by the accusation.
Woods broke his silence on the matter on Monday, when he said he was ready to move on and it was up to the Golf Channel to deal with Chamblee.
Woods spoke in China, where he played an exhibition against Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy weighed in on the affair this week in Shanghai, where he was preparing for the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament.
"People wouldn't know who Brandel Chamblee was if it wasn't for Tiger Woods, so I am completely against what he said and I think he should be dealt with in the right way," McIlroy said.
Chamblee said that although he works for Golf Channel, the Golf.com article didn't involve the US cable television network.
He said his editor at Golf.com asked him to rewrite the ending of his column and he declined.
"I wished I would have listened to him," Chamblee said.
